Description
The original Dave Filoni design for the character who would eventually become Ahsoka Tano was called Ashla (who was no relation to another young Togruta woman of the same name who appeared in Attack Of The Clones), wore a flared skirt and was to be the Padawan to the lead Jedi character in The Clone Wars, a female Jedi named Sondak. Beyond having a different costume that continued in concept art even after her name and Jedi mentor changed, the facial markings of the character went through several iterations before becoming the pattern that we are now so familiar with.
